DC Black Label

DC Black Label update – Upcoming Collected editions

What is DC Black Label?

DC Black Label is a new collection dedicated to expand on the back stories of the DC Comics characters with unique, standalone stories set outside of the regular DC continuity.

Each DC Black Label series will have a unique format and release schedule.

The first DC Black Label series

A few weeks ago, DC Comics announced the first three series to be released under the new label:

BATMAN: DAMNED #1 – September 19, 2018 (bimonthly, three issues)
SUPERMAN: YEAR ONE #1 – November, 2018 (bimonthly, three issues)
THE OTHER HISTORY OF THE DC UNIVERSE #1 – December, 2018 (seven issues)

We advise you to keep an eye out for those as they pop up on your monthly previews.

Kick starting the DC Black Label series.

In order to kick start the new collection, DC will release under the new banner a first collected edition Sean Murphy’s Batman: White Knight.

DC Comics Batman White Knight

The series just ended its eight-issue run and was acclaimed by the public as a very deep one. A very dark rumination on the true meaning of justice and the fine, often blurred line between criminals and vigilantes. Focusing more on the internal battle of Gotham City’s crimefighters, walking on the brink of insanity.

Other collected editions will join this very anticipated one:

Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely’s ALL-STAR SUPERMAN
Darwyn Cooke’s DC: THE NEW FRONTIER
Mark Waid and Alex Ross’ KINGDOM COME
Frank Miller’s  BATMAN: YEAR ONE and BATMAN: DARK KNIGHT: MASTER RACE
